When you are thinking about yourself, the thinking generally becomes negative and soon your emotional state, how you feel, is one of sadness, or perhaps greed or even anger. Happiness comes from the mind, how we think is how we feel. Being humble gives life meaning because it reduces the ego, leading to joy and happiness. Being humble means recognizing we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others.
