My Experience of PHOBIA

My Experience of PHOBIA
I am a Senior Secondary School teacher.

A student of class 12 (Science) of my Section, (Session 2018-19) SWATI BHUPE (changed name) was good at studies till class 11th. She was persuing her studies with PCM. In the month of April 2018, her attendence in the class was as required i.e. 75%, slowly by May 2018, it started reducing and it reduced by and by when enquired, parents told about her, not keeping well ,  When she came to school one day, I tried to talk to her, for some time she was normal, then her flood pressure suddenly shooted down and she fell down in the medical room. At times she used to hold my, Saree, pleading not to leave her alone. I found it alarming. Then, when called , their parents said that she is undergoing treatment of STRESS. I went to her house several times, sometimes found her talking normal, sometimes presuming that she is  sleeping & do not want to talk. When talked to the doctor & counselor to whom she was subjected, they talked about Phobia, of  result. I saw fear in her eyes many a times.
Her parents tried till the last moment that she can appear in 12th board exam, doctor gave more than 40% mental illness certificate, as a class teacher, I provided and trained a scriber, but she could not make it up . This is Vidyalaya Farawell Photo and she is one of them, seeing her, can you identify her? No, many times she is as normal as others.
Another incident, when RAJ (studying in class 8th) and DIVYA (studying in class 11) in the session 2012-13 (changed name), were not attentive in the class, many a time, not doing the work assigned & I found it alarming, one day, when I send DIVYA to go to the physics lab, she went to the chemistry lab and was trying to remember, what had I sent her for?
I tried to talk to her and also her brother, they did'nt give me any satisfactory response. Talked to her mother, father, nothing noticeable. Now when I called both of their parents together and made both the children in front of them and tried to speak to each other, then the parents started houling on the children, what is the matter, we are providing you with all facilities, then what else do you want? Both the students broke down and started crying, that we are tensed because  of quarrel between you. We love you both, so much, but afraid that because of any of our deeds, you should not, quarrel or hurt each other. OMG, so this was the Phobia.
Can a PHOBIA destroy a student's career?
I started studying, it is an extreme ,  irrational fear of something. The psychiatrist , I met with ,told that it is an anxiety disorder. Several Counselors termed it as situational stress. But in my first case, I found that the student forgets the momentary behaviour she does. But in the second case the brother & sisters were carrying the stress, day and night.
Looking into the above situations, we can analyse phobias as :

WHY NOT PROCESS TO AVOID CREEPING-IN OF PHOBIAS.
Previously we used to have a joined family and the children grew up with support of every member of the family. Now the development of nuclear family, parents rushing to offices for maintaining monetary requirement of children. This results in increase in expectations of the children and a feeling that, they should have every thing that money can buy. Emotional attachment, a feeling of sacrifice for people in need, is not creeping in. Students looks into STATUS i.e. studying in a reputed coaching, in a reputed institute, getting high package and so on. Inter personal relation is being meeting and dropping down from the horizontal platform of living ideas. Due to the pressure on both parents and children, which is not due to external factors but it is a self  straining, to achieve quantitative success, thus quality of life is abating. This is resulting in developing Phobias from very tender age.
Central Board of Secondary education is stressing on ART & CRAFT method  of teaching learning. Kendriya Vidyalayas are giving sports and games periods regularly, and working an SWASTH BACCHE-SWASTH BHARAT to deviate the students attention from ediction of social media. A government organisation VIRASA has associated many learned artist and are promoting hobbies related to dance and music volentarily. Unless the students intermingle with each other, spent quality time with parents and grand parents, get together with the colony people, be a part of social problem and its solution in and around, how can they understand their duties, responsibilities, strengths, weaknesses, different aspects and careers of life? Nowadays people are shifting in house, which are in a boundary and a society is established, so that the family can be exposed to social harmony environment, at least during festvals.
Let us all together find ways out to eradicate the very cause of PHOBIA from the minds of people.
